I bought a whole set of crochet hooks from Amazon and it was a major fail. After I wrote some very choice words to the Amazon Seller, I would either buy a more expensive set or solve the problem myself. So I decided to use the hooks and just make a thicker handle myself. I started with the oldest polymer clay I owned. I've had this polymer clay for a good six or seven years without touching it. I found a way to soften it because obviously that mess was hard. Believe it or not, I used Vaseline to restore life into these clay rocks!

Once it was softened, I rolled it into a snake or tube.

Once I had my tube, I grabbed the hook I want to covered and started twirling the hook while using my other hand to keep the clay steady and keep it from breaking.

I flattened the spot where your thumb is supposed to land on an average crochet hook and in that area. I also scratched in the size of that hook because you are covering where it is written on the hook in the metal.

Then bake it at 245 Degrees for ten minutes and you have a thick polymer clay handled crochet hook. Whoop whoop!!
