Lengthwise Slouch
Let's make this lengthwise slouch together. This is a great alternative to a basic hat. I'm so in love with this Lion Brand Landscapes yarn (not a sponsor). Go outside the box and let your colors shine!
SUPPLIES
•2 skeins Lion Brand Landscapes-Boardwalk
•6.55 mm (US SIZE K/10.5 Hook)
•Scissors
•Needle
NOTE: This pattern is made to accommodate Lion Brand Landscapes yarn which is a Super Bulky yarn. If you would like to use Sport Weight Yarn, you have to use two strands of Sport Weight Yarn to equal one strand of Super Bulky yarn.
PATTERN
Chain 41
ROW 1: In the 3rd chain from hook, DC, continue DC in each stitch till the last SIX sts. (HDC, HDC, SC, SC, SLST, SLST) over the last SIX stitches. =38 stitches
ROW 2: CH 1, (SLST, SLST, SC, SC, HDC, HDC) in the first SIX stitches, continue DC till one stitch is left, HDC in last stitch. =38 stitches
ROW 3: CH 1, HDC in first stitch, DC in each stitch till the last SIX sts. (HDC, HDC, SC, SC, SLST, SLST) over the last SIX sts. =38 stitches
THE NEXT ROWS: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until you get the desired width, (you’ll start to see a cone shape)
NOTE: Be sure to end on Row 2, which is the bottom part or widest part of the hat.
JOINING ROW: Starting at the bottom part of the hat, SLST Row 1 and to the LAST ROW completed. You will end up at the TOP of the hat. At this point, you would be sewing closed the opening at the top.
Finish off leaving a good bit of yarn to sew with and using your needle, sew the hole closed and hide the yarn end.
