Procreate Shadow Brush

Shadow Brush In Procreate 5X

I do a lot of lettering. And when I do, I always feel the need to put a shadow under ANY letter text I make. Naturally, it takes me FOREVER to create a title because shadow has to be added. So I decide to create a Procreate brush that takes a step out of my work! Of course, Im using Procreate 5X and an iPad Pro to do this.

It was a matter of creating the behind the scenes dynamics first. It was a lot of trial and error but I figured it should start with two circles of different colors. making sure that the circle to the right is BLACK. That's the ACTUAL brush and the GREY circle is to the left. That's the shadow.

Then connecting those two circles. So that they become one by SLIGHTLY touching. Make sure its in the middle of your square canvas and big enough with not a lot of space around it. *SEE VIDEO*

Next, you save it as a png OR copy it.

Then find a brush you like and duplicate it. Open it up to see the settings of that brush.

Then import your circles artwork. Make sure to invert the colors of the circles to WHITE on the RIGHT and GREY on the left with just a two-finger tap. * SEE VIDEO*

Tweak a little bit of the settings

and BOOM! You have a SHADOW BRUSH. Its really that simple. Soon, I will be doing a stamps creation video. It uses the same concept really and it so easy peasy. STAY TUNED!

Through my 15+ years of crocheting, I have made it my goal to show the world we are more than just doily and blanket makers. And as a curious DIY crafter, I'm always getting into other projects away from the hook and yarn too. Let's make something together!
