Crochet a Simple Hat

Let’s make a simple basic crochet hat together. It’s super easy my friends. I know you’ve seen many awesome crochet hats in your internets searchings, but you have to start somewhere. I’ll give you the basics to get you started on your hat making journey. We will be using a double crochet. Let’s do it!

PATTERN

Round 1: 9 DC in first chain, join at top of beginning chain=10 DC

Round 2: CH 2, DC in same stitch as joining, 2 DC in each of the next stitches=20 DC

Round 3: CH 2, DC in same stitch as joining 1 DC in next, (2 DC in next stitch, 1 DC in next stitch) repeat inside ( ) now and throughout. =30 DC

Round 4: CH 2, DC in same stitch as joining, 1 DC in each of the next 2 DC, (2 DC in next st, 1 DC in each of next 2 sts). =40 DC

Round 5: CH 2, DC in same stitch as joining, DC in next 3 sts (2 DC in next st, 1 DC in each of next 3 sts). =50 DC

Round 6: CH 2, DC in same stitch as joining, 1 DC in next 4 sts (2 DC in next st, 1 DC in each of the next 4 sts)= 60 DC

Round 7: CH 2, DC in same stitch as joining, 1 DC in each of next 9 sts, (2 DC in next st, 1 DC in each of the next 9 sts) = DC

Round 8-14: CH 2, DC evenly around. Remove stitch marker. (HDC, SC, SLST) to end.

FINISH OFF sew in loose ends
