CUT yarn and sew in end

Crochet Monstera Leaf Pattern

STABILITY OF THE LEAF

-You have two choices-

  1. Create another leaf and put the wire outline and stem wire in the middle sewing each in place.  OR

  2. Crochet another foundation vein.

CH 60, DC in the 3rd CH from hook, DC in next 55 CHs= 57 DC,

Working on side of last DC made, SC in the side, CH 2 when you get to other side of beginning CH, DC in each across, Cut yarn leaving a long tail.

Measure your leaf, cut hanger wire to the length you want your leaf AND stem, Secure it to back of the leaf with regular glue or glue gun along with foundation vein.  Secure it with the long tail of yarn towards the stem of the leaf because this is the string you would be used to cover the exposed wire along with glue.

Next, bend the 16 gauge wire around the edge of the leaf, add a little to make sure the wire doesn’t come up short. SC evenly around the edge. This is the part that you need a TON of patience. Keep at it.

Put it in a vase and TA DA!

Through my 15+ years of crocheting, I have made it my goal to show the world we are more than just doily and blanket makers. And as a curious DIY crafter, I'm always getting into other projects away from the hook and yarn too. Let's make something together!
