Jumbo Turtleneck Cowl

This crochet Jumbo Cowl is the warmest thing I’ve ever made! It was made with 4 strands of yarn held together and an S-hook and as a result of these two factors, it literally takes about 2 hours to make!

You can make it in the CRAZIEST colors or 4 strands of the different shades of one color. This project gives you many options. Enjoy this free crochet pattern and get creative!

You should already know how to Chain and Double Crochet.

  • Four strands of yarn of your choice
  • S – 35/19mm Hook
  • Blunt needle
  • Scissors

  • Four strands of yarn were used for this project, BUT you can use up to 5 strands of yarn with an S-hook so have fun with that!
  • You CAN sell your finished products using this pattern BUT please do me a solid and link back to me here at Martiancreations.com for credit. It’s the nice thing to do because you are a decent human being. Oh! and don’t use my photos to sell your work, that’s just wrong. Don’t be that person.
  • This is unisex but if you need it longer for a male just work a few more rows after ROW 13 and you will be in business!

  • CH-Chain
  • DC-Double Crochet
  • FO-Finish Off

With an S-hook and 4 strands of yarn

CH 4

ROW 1: 3 DC in first CH= 4 DC

ROW 2: CH 3, DC in same stitch as CH 3, DC in next 2 STs, 2 DC in last ST=6 DC

ROW 3-7: Repeat ROW 2

ROW 8-13: CH 3, DC in next ST =16 DC

RND 14: CH 10, careful not to twist, join CH to the 1st DC of ROW 13. CH 3, DC in each ST of cowl (16 DC) and DC in each CH (10) =26 DC. Join to first ST

NOTE: From this point on you can either join between row or work continuous using a stitch marker. Both ways would work. I chose to work with joinings in this pattern.

RND 15-19: CH 3, DC in each around.

Finish Off and use your blunt needle to sew in ends and enjoy!
