Crochet Flower Free Pattern

I wanted to design a crochet flower that’s simple yet beautifully intricate, perfect for decorating hats, bags, or any project needing a touch of floral charm! After trying various patterns, I realized I needed one that looked elaborate but didn’t take hours to make—so I created my own!

Here’s my free crochet pattern, along with a step-by-step video tutorial. I hope you enjoy creating this flower as much as I enjoyed designing it.

Crochet Flower 1

I liken this one to an open rose. It's made using a chain of linked rings.

First Rings

Using a 4 MM Hook, CH 15

Join to first CH and form a loop. CH 2, DC evenly in loop. Doesn't matter the amount of DC as long as its even.

FINISH OFF AND SEW IN ENDS

ALL THE OTHER RINGS

CH 15

Put one end of CH in FIRST RING COMPLETED, Join to form a ring with the FIRST RING ATTACHED.

CH 2, DC in ring CH evenly, join to first DC, FINSIH OFF AND SEW IN ENDS

Crochet Flower 2

I liken this flower to a close rose. It's made with a series of different size circles sewn together to shape a flower.

Large Circle

Using a 4mm Hook, CH 2, which counts as a DC

RND 1: 9 DC in first CH =10 DC

START USING A STITCH MARKER

RND 2: 2 DC in each ST around =20 DC

RND 3: 2 DC in first ST, DC in next ST, (2 DC in next ST, 1 DC in next ST) =30 DC

RND 4: 2 DC in first ST, DC in next 2 STS, (2 DC in next ST, 1 DC in next 2 STS) =40 DC

RND 5: 2 DC in first ST, DC in next 3 STS, (2 DC in next ST, 1 DC in next 3 STS) =50 DC

RND 6: 2 DC in first ST, DC in next 4 STS, (2 DC in next ST, 1 DC in next 4 STS) =60 DC

FINISH OFF AND SEW IN LOOSE ENDS AND SET ASIDE

Smaller Circles Make 4

Through my 15+ years of crocheting, I have made it my goal to show the world we are more than just doily and blanket makers. And as a curious DIY crafter, I'm always getting into other projects away from the hook and yarn too. Let's make something together!
