Free Crochet Head Wrap Girl Applique Pattern

Show off your head wrap girl! Made completely with yarn and crochet in pieces then attached. This crochet applique pattern is super easy to make. This can be attached to bags, jackets, clothes, or anything else you can think of by sewing or gluing.

HEAD AND FACE

Starting at the middle of the face

CH 2

RND 1: 6 SC in first CH =6 SC

RND 2: 2 SC in each around =12 SC

RND 3: [2 SC in next ST, 1 SC in next ST] =18 SC

RND 4: [2 SC in next ST, 1 SC in next 2 STS] =24 SC

RND 5: [2 SC in next ST, 1 SC in next 3 STS] =30 SC

RND 6: [2 SC in next ST, 1 SC in next 4 STS] =36 SC

RND 7: [2 SC in next ST, 1 SC in next 5 STS] =42 SC

RND 8: [2 SC in next ST, 1 SC in next 6 STS] =48 SC

RND 9: [2 SC in next ST, 1 SC in next 7 STS] =54 SC

RND 10: [2 SC in next ST, 1 SC in next 8 STS] =60 SC

CREATING CHIN PEAK

RND 11: [2 SC in next ST, 1 SC in next 9 STS] Repeat 3 times, 2 SC in next ST, SC in next 7 STS, HDC in next 2 STS, 2 HDC in next ST, HDC in next 2 STS, SC in next 7 STS, [2 SC in next ST, 1 SC in next 9 STS] =66 SC

RND 12: [2 SC in next ST, 1 SC in next 10 STS] REPEAT 3 times, 2 SC in next ST, SC in next 8 STS, HDC in next 2 STS, 2 HDC in next ST, HDC in next 2 STS, SC in next 8 STS, [2 SC in next ST, 1 SC in next 10 STS]=72 SC

CUT YARN, SLST IN NEXT ST, PULL END THROUGH, SEW IN END

NECK

With front of circle facing you and chin at the bottom, from the 2 HDC tip of chin, count 5 STS to the right, attach a ST marker. Count 5 STS to the left attach another ST marker.  With front facing and chin pointing UP, attach brown yarn to marked stitch to the right with a SLST. 

CH 9, Attach yarn with a SLST to marked ST to the left CH 1, TURN

ROW 1: SC in each CH across (NOT around the CH), CH 1, TURN =9 SC

ROW 2: SC in NEXT 3 STS, 2 SC in next ST, 1 SC in next ST, 2 SC in next ST, SC in next 3 STS, CH 1, TURN =11 SC

ROW 3: SC in each across, CH 1, TURN =11 SC

ROW 4: SC in next 4 STS, 2 SC in next ST, SC in next ST, 2 SC in next ST, SC in next 4 STS, CH 1, TURN =13 SC

ROW 5 and 6: SC in each ST across, CH 1, TURN =13 SC

ROW 7: SC in each ST across =13 SC Attach shirt color yarn in the last SC

SHIRT COLLAR

CH 3 (counts as 1st DC)

ROW 1: 3 DC in space below beginning CH, DC in next 11 STS, 4 DC in last ST=19 DC

FINISH OFF

HEADWRAP

3 CIRCLES

CIRCLE ONE (RIGHT SIDE)

Repeat circle of face

RND 1-10

SLST in next ST, cut yarn, sew in ends

CIRCLE TWO (LEFT SIDE)

Repeat circle of face

RND 1-8

SLST in next ST, cut yarn, sew in ends

CIRCLE THREE (TOP)

Repeat circle of face

RND 1-8

SLST in next ST, cut yarn by leave a long tail for sewing circles together

Put circles in position

After the circles are in position, use the loose string from circle 3 to sew all three circles together.  Set circles aside for a minute. On the head, from chin peak, count 15 STS to the right, put a stitch marker in 15th ST. From chin peak, count 21 STS to the left, put a stitch marker in 21st ST. 

Now sew the group of circles to the head, be careful not to cover the center circle and two stitch markers of the head. All are marked in photo below. 

Flip head face down. With back facing, attach same color as circles with a SC in stitch marked in photo.

EDGING

ROW 1: SC in next 5 STS of head, continue evenly between STS and around the circles, When you arrive to second stitch market, CH 1, TURN

ROW 2: Skip first 2 STS, SC in next 4 STS, SCDEC next 2 STS together, SC till 3 STS are left, SLST in last 3 STS and in next ST of face/head cut yarn and sew in end.
